Selection of Dissertation Topic:

At the Faculty of Chemistry, students of all degrees and forms of study shall select their thesis topics
and enrol in the Diploma Thesis subject according to the following rules:

1. Students shall select their thesis topics before the end of the stage (semester) preceding the stage (semester) in which the thesis will be carried out. Students choose diploma thesis topics     before the end of the stage (semester) preceding the stage (semester) in which the thesis will be implemented
2. The list of diploma thesis topics is placed in the APD system.
3. Students shall choose topics for their future diploma theses from a list of topics proposed for a given degree and diploma subject.
   After making a preliminary choice of the diploma thesis topic, the student contacts the supervisor to get familiar with the details concerning the implementation of the topic.
   The student declares their intention to pursue the topic, and then the supervisor enrols the student on the selected topic in the APD system and directs it for approval.
4. It is possible to realise diploma theses outside of the Faculty of Chemistry of Wrocław University of Science and Technology;
   • Completing the "Diploma Thesis" subject at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, but at a different faculty, requires obtaining the consent of the Vice-Dean
     for Student Affairs (application form).
   • Completing the "Diploma Thesis" subject outside of Wrocław University of Science and Technology requires obtaining the consent of the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs (application form)
     and approval of the submitted topic of the diploma thesis (topic submission form).
   • Notes: - The supervisor of a bachelor's/master's thesis can be a research worker holding at least a doctoral degree, employed in a scientific, didactic, or scientific-didactic unit specializing in a scientific discipline consistent with the field/specialization of the student.
5. There is a possibility, in agreement with the interested student, to specify the topic and scope of the diploma thesis. - specimen application for specifying
6. Students shall be enrolled in the “Diploma Thesis” course with the selected supervisor after being enrolled in the diploma stage (semester). The condition for registration for the "Diploma Thesis" course is obtaining enrollment in the diploma stage (semester) (7 or 8 stage for first-cycle studies and 2 or 3 stage for second-cycle studies). The realization of the "Diploma Thesis" course at an earlier stage requires the approval of the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs.
7. The topic and supervisor of the diploma thesis must be established before enrollment in the "Diploma Thesis" course.
8. Student prepare the diploma thesis in the same language in which the "Diploma Thesis" course was conducted according to the study program. The Dean may grant the right to deviate from this rule at the request of the student and with the consent of the supervisor.
   • Notes: The topic reserved for a student but not completed within the planned deadline (lack of registration for the course or obtaining an "unsatisfactory" grade from the "Diploma Thesis/Diploma Thesis II" course) requires re-submitting and approving the topic in the APD system.
