Chemistry and industrial analytics - studies in Polish

Descriptionfotolia_51644416_subscription_xxl.jpg

Studies in the field of "Chemistry and industrial analytics" cover 7 semesters, and graduates obtain the professional title of engineer in chemistry and industrial analytics (1st level qualifications). In contrast to other chemical trends in the country, the field of education "Chemistry and industrial analytics" conducted at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Wrocław University of Technology combines the knowledge of chemical sciences with an emphasis on practical skills related to chemical and instrumental analysis.

What sets this field of study apart from others is:

  • large share (> 50%) of active classes, i.e. laboratories, exercises, seminars and projects,
  • balance between general and specialist knowledge transferred,
  • providing knowledge and skills about the latest achievements of science and technology,
  • the opportunity to participate in many courses selected according to the needs and interests of students, developing personality through participation in humanistic courses,
  • partial preparation for running a business through participation in managerial and economic classes,
  • preliminary familiarization with the possibilities and conditions of future work through the opportunity to participate in internships.

What we teach?fotolia_39322476_subscription_xxl.jpg

The program of studies in the field of "Industrial Chemistry Chemistry", in addition to general-level basic subjects in the fields of analytical, physical, general and organic chemistry and engineering and chemical technology, offers courses that give knowledge on the proper selection and use of instrumental methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis , including atomic and molecular spectroscopy, electrochemistry, gas and liquid chromatography, radiochemistry, in the determination of inorganic and organic components in environmental, industrial and natural products, or control of industrial processes and quality assessment of products. Offered objects and classes provide knowledge and skills in the collection of various samples and their appropriate preparation for measurements (depending on the degree of their complexity and the type of components) and validation of analytical methods and procedures, calibration and calibration of control and measurement devices, control and assurance quality of analyzes and organization and work in accredited laboratories and / or meeting the requirements of good laboratory practice. These subjects provide basic knowledge on the application of analytical methods in biochemical and biotechnological research.

Graduates from the field of "Chemistry and industrial analytics" will have the ability to use knowledge in the field of basic chemistry and chemical analytics and use this knowledge in their professional work, in particular the safe use of chemical products and the use of various analytical techniques and methods. They will know the principles of sustainable development and legal regulations in the field of business. In addition, they will have the ability to interpret and quantify the basic physicochemical phenomena, conduct laboratory work and chemical analysis, work with modern equipment and analytical equipment, assess the risk of handling samples and waste, evaluate and interpret measurement data and results of analyzes, or organize safe and effective workplaces. The English language will also be familiar with the B2 proficiency level of the European System of Language Description of the Council of Europe and will use a specialized language in the field of chemistry and chemical analytics. They will be prepared to undertake second-cycle studies.

Teaching staff

The teaching staff of the field is a team of academic teachers specializing in various areas of chemistry. The lecturers in the field of Chemistry and industrial analyst are not only experienced didactics, but above all scientists, valued in the chemist community. These are practitioners who, through cooperation with other research centers at home and abroad, as well as through cooperation with the industry, create modern and innovative education programs adapted to the needs of the labor market.

Teaching facilities

bsa20110523_11.jpgThe Faculty of Chemistry of the Wrocław University of Technology cares for the development of the didactic infrastructure. We strive to provide students of our Faculty with the best possible conditions for studying chemistry. Modern computer rooms, very well-equipped laboratories, lecture halls with full multimedia facilities allow for comfortable teaching and learning.
The laboratories are equipped with high-class laboratory equipment, which allows students to get acquainted with the latest techniques and methods of synthesis and analysis.

Other opportunities

Students who are socially active or who want to deepen their knowledge in the field of chemistry and industrial analytics can become members of the faculty scientific circle of students of chemistry "ALLIN". The circle deals with the popularization of broadly understood chemistry. He regularly organizes popular science lectures, meetings, demonstrations and chemical workshops. Circle members are co-organizers of the discussion panel 'The future of energy in Poland'. The Circle also cooperates with industrial plants and enterprises in the region and beyond, organizing meetings with representatives of chemical companies, or trips to production plants.
During the course, students of "Chemistry and industrial analytics" have the opportunity to take up interesting internships and apprenticeships in companies located in the Lower Silesia region and beyond, including ACTEGA Colorchemie Polska sp. Z o. O., Anwil SA, Brenntag Polska SA, Cargill Poland sp. z oo, Quality Research Center in Lubin, CHEMIN, DMS-Adel, ECO Logistics sp. z oo, Gerresheimer Bolesławiec SA, GLOBAL COSMED, SA, HASCO-LEK SA, Institute of Low Temperatures and Structure Research PAS in Wroclaw, Jelenia Góra Plant Pharmaceutical "Jelfa" SA, LabAnalityka sp. Z o. O. In Brzeg Dolny, District Chemical and Agricultural Station in Wrocław, PGE GiEK SA, Pollena Przedsiębiorstwo Chemii Gospodarczej sp. Z o. O., POLWAX SA, RootInnovation sp. Z oo, SIOD c / o TU Chemnitz, Surfact Green, Świat Lnu sp. Z o. O., Military Insitute of Engineering Techniques in Wroclaw.
As part of the Erasmus + program operating at the Faculty of Chemistry, they also have the possibility of traveling abroad to universities in other European Union countries or from outside to study (under bilateral contracts of the Chemical Faculty), apprenticeships and internships (as part of partnership agreements with companies, companies, institutes) whether to take part in the double diploma study program under agreements signed by the Wrocław University of Technology with other technical universities from European countries (20), Australia, Brazil, China and Japan belonging to the technical university network (TIME, Top Industrial Managers for Europe).
